Australia’s road to the 2019 ICC World Cup will begin this Saturday, January 12, when the Gillette ODI series vs India commences in Sydney.

Fox Sports has exclusive rights to the three game series against one of the world’s best ODI teams, the No.2 ranked India, the series will provide an opportunity for Australian players to state their case for World Cup selection in England later this year.

The Fox Cricket commentary team will be headlined by Adam Gilchrist and Isa Guha, with experts Shane Warne, Mark Waugh, Mike Hussey, Allan Border, Michael Vaughan, Kerry O’Keeffe, Brendon Julian, Indian cricket expert Harsha Bhogle and reporters Neroli Meadows and Megan Barnard covering the series.

Former Australian Test wicketkeeper and current Australia fielding coach, Brad Haddin, will join the commentary team as a special guest for the opening match of the series in Sydney.

Fox Cricket expert commentator and three-time World Cup winner, Adam Gilchrist, said:

“There’s no better way to check your progress as a team than against the best in the world."

“Some surprises have been named in Australia’s squad for this series with Peter Siddle, the Marsh brothers, Peter Handscomb, Jason Behrendorff, Billy Stanlake and Adam Zampa all out to book tickets to England and they will know they need big performances to silence any doubters, which is an upside for Australia in a side that still has Steve Smith and David Warner to return.

"Australia’s ODI squad also will have taken a lot from their series loss to South Africa on home soil in what was their first real outing together and they will be out to atone for that against India.

"The touring India squad are flying high after their historic Test series win and won’t be doing Australia any favours with their ultra-competitive captain, Virat Kohli, looking to dominate the locals and finish the tour on a high. This will be a cracker of a series."

January will also see Fox Cricket broadcast 23 Big Bash League games, with 7 exclusive fixtures including the Melbourne derby between the Renegades and Stars on January 19.

Every game of the ICC 2019 World Cup in England will be shown LIVE on Fox Cricket
