After the shock exit of JOHANNA GRIGGS in July comes news another presenter is leaving the CHANNEL 7 reality show.

Popular judge Wendy Moore has announced she is leaving Channel 7’s House Rules in a lengthy instagram post on Saturday. Moore had been with the program since its inception and her departure comes just a few months after Joh Griggs announced her resignation at the conclusion of season seven.

“I have loved every single moment and am really proud to have worked on a show that has literally changed lives and inspired us all to take on big, scary challenges” says Moore’s post

In May Moore started a new role at Foxtel as general manager of Foxtel’s Lifestyle brands. Previously she had spent 12 years at Pacific Magazines, including three as General Manager of all Home and Food brands at Pacific Magazines.

The announcement comes after Moore told the Mediaweek podcast less than two weeks ago that she intended to continue with the show;

“I am still planning to continue with House Rules. So, that was one of the kind of things we talked about when I moved over (to Foxtel), so I’ll still continue doing that.”

Sources tell TV Blackbox Moore’s departure is part of a refresh of all shows at the network as ordered by new CEO James Warbutron. That refresh includes changes to judging line-ups and is particularly relevant to House Rules considering it under-performed in 2019.

Experienced executive Andrew Backwell is now overseeing the show and has ordered a complete shake-up now that former host Joh Griggs has left. TV Blackbox understands a new production team will be working behind the scenes on series 8.

As part of her goodbye message Moore shares her thanks for being given the opportunity to work on the show;

“I have loved every single moment and am really proud to have worked on a show that has literally changed lives and inspired us all to take on big, scary challenges. I have made so many friends, seen so many parts of Australia and learnt so much that I will always be grateful to Channel Seven for.”

It’s still unknown at this stage whether Jamie Durie, Carolyn Burns-McCrave and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen will continue with the show.
