A new month see’s a new broadcast channel added to the line-up across Australia’s five metro cities

openshop has now commenced broadcasting, and just in case you were not watching the late-night launch, Youtube account Australian TV Archive has helpfully captured this historic moment in Australian broadcasting… (See Below)

openshop is owned by the Hyundai Home Shopping. The network has signed a broadcast agreement with SEVEN allowing openshop to broadcast on channel 75.

The Korean owned business quietly established an Australian operation late last year and now has plans to invest $45million into conquering this market. A spokesperson for the business telling the Korean Herald,

“Based on the expertise we built up in Korea, we are going to introduce the perks of Korean-style TV home shopping such as free delivery, speedy parcel service and interest-free instalment payment, differentiating ourselves from other channels with competitiveness.”

The new channel will initially transmit to Australia’s five mainland capital cities and some regional Queensland markets, but has plans to expand across regional Australia in 2020.

The addition of openshop will see the SEVEN Network now providing 7 broadcast channels including 7Two, 7Mate, 7Flix, 7Food, and Racing.com. The network also streams three additional channels Pac12, Outdoor Channel and the Olympic Channel via its 7Plus streaming service.

First time viewers tuning into Channel 75 this morning may think they’ve switched onto an Oprah TV special. Presenters will open the launch with a sit-down group interview at 7.30am lead by the queen of shopping Nikki Vincent, on their brand-new set with the aim to get to know the new team and showcase the fresh new fun way to shop.

openshop will put the focus on Beauty, Jewellery, Fashion, Technology, Home and Health. Presenters on the new channel will include Justine Diana, Zac Deane, Carla King-Turner, Nikki Vincent, Gabby Berry and Steven Milne

openshop Managing Director Jason Kim told TV Blackbox;

“We are so excited to be launching. It’s an advanced, digital ready economy, that is showing huge growth in online shopping. We look forward to making an impact in a very competitive market.”

With Free Express Delivery, customers can experience the convenience of 24/7 shopping on Channel 75, at openshop.com.au or the downloadable app.

With an aim to reward shoppers, including exclusive offers on their favourite brands. The call centre will operate 24/7 on 13 25 80, so customers can shop whenever they want on one of the three platforms available.
