Locally owned streaming service STAN has confirmed the highly anticipated fourth season of Veronica Mars will launch tonight on the streaming service.

The surprise launch date was announced in the US by the show’s star Kirsten Bell while attending Comic-Con this morning! The new season was originally scheduled to launch in Australia on July 27, but has been brought forward to coincide with Bell’s birthday.

The storyline for season four of Veronica Mars is set five years after the events of the movie, fans have been warned to expect a ‘darker tone’ than in previous seasons.

Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the family of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.

THE BRAND NEW SEASON OF ‘VERONICA MARS’ PREMIERES EXCLUSIVELY ON STAN TONIGHT – SATURDAY 27 FROM 6PM!
