The ABC is set to deliver DIARY OF AN UBER DRIVER, a new six-part Australian dramedy, on Wednesday 14 August at 9.30pm on ABC and iview.

The first production from breakout producers Revlover, this honest and heartfelt series follows Uber driver Ben (Sam Cotton) as he tries to figure out what he should be doing while helping others get where they’re going.

Against the ticking clock of impending fatherhood, Ben is trying to negotiate his relationship with Beck (Zahra Newman), the mother of his child. He must decipher what being ‘relevant’ looks like in a relationship that seems to think he’s surplus to requirements. Luckily, he has a revolving car door of human behaviour to trawl through for clues.

The ABC is renowned for offering audiences distinctive and entertaining programming on Wednesday nights and DIARY OF AN UBER DRIVER is an exciting new addition to this line-up. Reminding us that we don’t always know everything that is going on in peoples’ lives, this smart and insightful series has a beautiful, poignant and humorous tone throughout.

Written by Thomas Ward (Please Like Me) and based on the popular blog and bestselling e-book by Ben Phillips, DIARY OF AN UBER DRIVER is directed by two-time Berlinale Crystal Bear winning director Matthew Moore (Offspring), produced by Martha Coleman and Lauren Edwards for RevLover Films, and shot by The Fast and the Furious franchise DOP Stephen F. Windon.

Sam Cotton (Rosehaven) stars as protagonist Ben, with Zahra Newman (WentworthSisters) as Beck, the mother of his unborn child. The series features an exciting array of guest stars including Bell Shakespeare’sJohn Bell, Caroline Brazier (Rake), Ed Oxenbould (Paper PlanesPuberty Blues), Julian Maroun (Romper Stomper) and Emily Barclay (Please Like MeSistersGlitch).
