The golf world will turn its attention to the year’s second major tournament when Fox Sports, on Foxtel, presents comprehensive coverage of the 2019 PGA CHAMPIONSHIP this weekend

The demanding Bethpage Black Course in Long Island, New York will host the 2019 PGA Championship with one of the strongest fields, comprising 156 players, contesting the 101st instalment of the prestigious tournament and aiming to win one of golf’s most prized possessions, the coveted Wanamaker Trophy.

Fox Sports 503 will present daily coverage of the prestigious tournament, with LIVE first round action in HD available from 3.00am to 9.00am on Friday, May 17. Coverage will continue across the weekend with LIVE final round coverage on Monday, May 20 from 4.00am to 9.00am.

Immediately following each day’s broadcast Fox Sports 503 will also air LIVE FROM THE PGA CHAMPIONSHIP, a two-hour review of the day’s play with interviews and analysis from a panel including former tour professionals David Duval, Brandel Chamblee and Frank Nobilo.

Following his amazing comeback victory at The Masters, Tiger Woods will be among the hot favourites to win the 2019 PGA Championship – he is a four-time winner of the PGA Championship and previously tasted victory at Bethpage Black winning the 2002 US Open.

However, there are many contenders who will have their eyes on the prize, including Brooks Koepka, who has won the past two PGA Championship events and will be vying for a trifecta of wins, while world number one Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy are also expected to feature strongly.

The Australian charge will be led by former champion Jason Day, who won the event in 2015, Adam Scott, Marc Leishman and in-form Cameron Smith, while Stuart Deane, a Brisbane native who is a teaching pro at Texas Star Golf Club, and PNG-born Craig Hocknull are among the 20 club pros to have qualified for the tournament.
