What's New In Streaming For The Next Seven Days

Streaming Guide December 7 – December 13

The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel: Seasson 2 (Prime Video, Available Now)

There’s a lot of Christmas fare available this month (I’ve even created a section for it), but there’s also something for our Jewish friends. It’s currently Hanukkah, so it’s the perfect time to watch the second season of the Emmy-winning comedy series starring Rachel Brosnahan. Midge (Brosnahan) is still hurt by her husband’s actions, but she must also consider her future in comedy. It’s time to sit down with some rugelach and enjoy the latest that Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls, Bunheads) has to offer.

The Last O.G.: Season 1 (Stan, December 7)

Created by Jordan Peele (Get Out) and John Carcieri (Eastbound & Down), The Last O.G. marks the welcome return of 30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan. Ex-con Tray (Morgan) returns to Brooklyn after 15 years in prison to discover that it has become radically gentrified, and that his wife (Tiffany Haddish, Girl’s Night) has moved on.

Nailed It! Holiday! (Netflix, December 7)

It’s the first of this week’s Christmas highlights! I have no idea if these will happen every week this month, but it’s entirely possible. Nicole Byer and Jacques Torres host the holiday-themed special. Home bakers with terrible track records take a shot at recreating edible holiday masterpieces for a $10,000 prize. I’m looking forward to all the gingerbread houses.

RuPaul’s Drag Race: Holi-Slay Spectacular (Stan, December 8)

Who will slay the competition? In this holiday special like no other, former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants Eureka O’Hara, Jasmine Masters, fan favourite Shangela, Kim Chi, Latrice Royale (also returning on All Stars Season 4 – but that’s next week), Mayhem Miller, Sonique and All Stars season 3 winner Trixie Mattel compete against each other for the title of America’s first “Drag Race Xmas Queen.” Things we need to know: what’s the cash prize for this special? Also, if Shangela wins this one, will that make up for her not even getting to the final lip sync in All Stars Season 3? There’s a lot on the line!

Vir Das: Losing it (Netflix, December 11)

The world’s got a lot of problems, but Vir Das has a lot of answers as he discusses travel, religion, his childhood and more in this stand-up special.

Supergirl: Season 4, Episode 9 (Foxtel, December 12)

Pay attention, because Supergirl is on a different night next week! This episode is the final in the DC television cross-over event that introduces Ruby Rose as Batwoman (not to be confused with Batgirl, who is Barbara Gordon and is still hopefully getting a film soon). The Legends of Tomorrow aren’t appearing in this one, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be great.
