How do we solve a problem like diminishing free-to-air ratings? (How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?) Apart from Kochie’s news, Kelsey Grammer’s news, and Foxtel’s cricket news, the team have a significant discussion about the Q4 numbers and we ponder if our expectations are too high. Just a normal existential moment for TV BLACKBOX.

  1. I’m not a fan a multi day reality shows and generally avoid them but I’ve watched bits of family food fight with someone who has watched it all last season and this season. They liked it last season but they aren’t enjoying it this season. They’ve found it confusing at times in the way the challenges are done, they don’t like that they don’t score they dishes like they did last year but just rank them and they don’t feel that the teams of two work as well as the team of 4 did last year. Six episodes have aired and two of those episodes and one coming has been the families cooking 100 step difficult desserts. Those episodes don’t seem appropriate for this style of show and are not great to watch especially multiple times. Once maybe towards the end of series. Viewers want to see people cooking family food and talking to each other in the special way families do. Its not a hard concept and 9 have missed the mark with it the season.
