What's New In Streaming For The Next Seven Days

Streaming Guide October 19 – October 25

Making a Murderer: Part 2 (Netflix, October 19)

Emmy Award-winning filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos return to the Midwest where they have exclusive access to Steven Avery and his co-defendant and nephew Brendan Dassey, their families and the legal teams fighting for justice on their behalf. Making a Murderer Part 2 provides an in-depth look at the post-conviction process, exploring the emotional toll it takes on all involved.

And if you’re sick of watching or listening to true crime, check out American Vandal.

The Florida Project (Foxtel, October 19)

Aside from some supporting actor nominations for Willem Dafoe, The Florida Project went mostly unrecognised during awards season, despite being one of the best films of 2017. The Florida Project follows six-year-old Moonee (Brooklynn Prince) and her mother Halley (Bria Vinaite), two tenants at the Magic Castle motel in Florida, as they struggle to make ends meet.

Deutschland 86: Episode 1 (Stan, October 20)

Taking place three years after the events of Deutschland 83, the historic spy thriller continues as Jonas Nay once again plays East German undercover agent Martin Rauch in this globetrotting Cold War drama. Martin is on a mission to save the German Democratic Republic and is tasked with dangerous operations that will take him to Tripoli, Paris, West Berlin and beyond.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: Season 4, Episode 1 (Foxtel, October 23)

I am behind on every single DC television show at the moment, but I know that fans of the television universe have said that Legends of Tomorrow has become the most enjoyable. Season four adds sorcerer John Constantine (whose television show was cancelled a few years ago, but has popped up on Arrow), who informs the Legends that messing with time has caused the barriers between worlds to soften. This is bound to have implications for future cross over episodes, and all I really want out of those is some Supergirl/Flash interaction.

Bull: Season 1 (Stan, October 25)

Based on the early days of talk show host Dr. Phil when he was the founder of one of the most prolific trial consulting firms of all time, Bull stars Michael Weatherly (NCIS) as visionary medical practitioner Dr. Jason Bull.

The Letdown: Season 1 (Foxtel, October 25)

Audrey (Alison Bell) is determined not to be defined by motherhood. In theory, this seems fairly easy. In practice, her career-focused husband, self-obsessed mother and fancy-free best friend make it damn near impossible.
