What's New In Streaming For The Next Seven Days

Streaming Guide May 11 – May 17

Busted!: Season 1, Episode 3&4 (Netflix, May 11)

If you’re a fan of the short-lived murder mystery reality show Whodunnit? (as I clearly am) or non-English television, Busted! is the show you’ve been looking for. This Korean mystery show is classified as a thriller and a comedy, and two episodes will be released each week of this ten-episode season. A man named “M” invites seven people to a murder game party. Among the eight in the room, one will become a victim, and the other the culprit.

Girls Trip (Foxtel Now, May 13)

I’ll forgive you if you haven’t seen Girls Trip, which is one of last year’s best comedies. It was a breakout hit in the United States but had a short-lived cinematic release over here. Now you have no excuse. Join the “Flossy Posse” – a group of friends (Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah) who have grown apart since leaving college – on a trip to the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. You’re guaranteed a fun time, especially with Tiffany Haddish on board. You’ll see.

Ali Wong: Hard Knock Wife (Netflix, May 13)

It’s been two years since Ali Wong’s hit stand-up show Baby Cobra dropped on Netflix, and Hard Knock Wife is about the hilarious truths about marriage and motherhood, for those seeking an unconventional Mother’s Day watch.

I’m Dying Up Here: Season 2, Episode 2 (Stan, May 14)

With the season premiere of I’m Dying Up Here dropping early on Stan, get back on the weekly schedule with episode 2. The second season of this behind the scenes show about stand-up comedy has added Emmy winner Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond) to its talented ensemble. Garrett plays comedy Legend Roy Martin, who arrives on the scene and disrupts the routine of Goldie’s regular club comics.

Atomic Blonde (Foxtel Now, May 15)

Based on the graphic novel “The Coldest City,” Atomic Blonde stars Charlize Theron (Kill Bill, Mad Max: Fury Road) as an MI6 Agent who is on a mission in East Berlin at the end of the Cold War. Featuring a fantastic hallway fight, Atomic Blonde is an action thriller for everyone who wished there was a Bond film starring a woman. Even better, a sequel was announced this week for anyone wanting more, which should be everyone who has seen this film.

Rise: Season 1, Episode 10 – Finale (Stan, May 16)

During the opening night of Spring Awakening, personal crises and dilemmas percolate in the wings. Simon struggles to overcome his biggest fear, Lilette (Auli’i Cravalho, Moana) withholds a huge development from Robbie, who has a momentous breakthrough, and Tracey (Rosie Perez) draws a line in the sand. Over the course of one evening, decisions are made that will change Lou (Josh Radnor) and Stanton Drama forever.
