The last quarter of TEN’s ratings year is looking a lot less interesting with the news Russell Coight All Aussie Adventures will not air in 2017, and upcoming drama series Sisters also in doubt.

The two productions were the centrepiece of TEN’s 2017 upfront’s event last November, but production and scheduling issues means viewers will now have to wait a bit longer to see both shows.

The Herald-Sun reports Russell Coight star Glen Robbins told a Melbourne charity event ‘filming of the new episodes had begun, but that there was still plenty of work to do.’ ‘filming would continue through to the end of the year with the results set to air on Ten early next year.’

Filming of All Aussie Adventures has proved hard to lock in this year with the show’s producers involved with a number of other projects including Utopia and Have You Been Paying Attention.

Filming on the drama series Sisters commenced in July after producers made the decision to wait for cast members including the show’s star Lucy Durack to become available from other projects.

A spokesperson for TEN declined to confirm when viewers can expect the new series telling DeciderTV, “We haven’t yet announced if it will be 2017 or 2018.”

Sisters has been described as a “contemporary, feel-good family drama” and is from the producers of Offspring,

The series explores the differences between being related and being a family. It features an impressive cast including Barry Otto, Catherine McClements, Remy Hii, Dan Spielman, and Magda Szubanski.

DeciderTV understands comedian Joel Creasy will also appear in the new drama.

Without Russell Coight and Sisters in the lineup, TEN will be relying on The Bachelorette with Sophie Monk, drama series The Wrong Girl, a new Peter Helliar quiz show CRAM, and two-part mini-series Wake In Fright to keep viewers engaged in the final weeks of 2017
