The Good Fight finally finds an Australian home on SBS

It’s been a long wait for fans of The Good Wife, but finally an Australian broadcaster has acquired broadcast rights to the highly anticipated spin-off series, The Good Fight.

Set one year after The Good Wife’s finale, the new series brings back series stars Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhart, and Cush Jumbo as Lucca Quinn.

The Good Fight which premiered in the US in February, and has recently been renewed for a second season will air in Australia from August on SBS.

Each week, The Good Fight delivers stories inspired by real events, covering terrorism, cyber-bullying, censorship, hate speech and fake news.

When Lockhart (Christine Baranski) announces her retirement from her previous law firm, she soon discovers she has been the victim of a Bernie Maddof-like scam, causing her to lose all of her money. Desperate for work, and no longer welcome at her old firm, Lockhart joins a predominantly African American law firms that specialises in representing police brutality cases.

The series also features a number of your favourite regular guest stars from The Good Wife including Matthew Perry, Michael Boatman, Gary Cole, and Carrie Preston back for multiple episodes.

The Good Fight premieres on Wednesday, 2 August on SBS, with episodes available on SBS On Demand after each episode airs.
