Ten confirms The Bachelorette Australia will return in 2017

Network Ten has confirmed The Bachelorette Australia will return for a third season.

The romantic series will be back in 2017, with a brand-new Bachelorette embarking on her quest to find true love. Casting for season three will commence in early 2017.

Network Ten Chief Content Officer, Beverley McGarvey, said:

“In just two years, The Bachelorette Australia has become a firm favourite among many viewers and a key part of Ten’s content line-up.

“The recipe of love, drama, excitement,romanceand amazing dates has struck chord with many people and made The Bachelorette Australia one of the most talked about shows on television and a hit across multiple screens.

“We are looking forward to working with our partner Warner Bros International Television Production Australia to take our new Bachelorette, a new group of eligible Bachelors and all of Australia on a new journey of adventure and love”

Season two of The Bachelorette Australia ended on a high with 1.33 million people tuning in to watch Georgia Love declare her love for Lee Elliot.

The emotional and spectacular The Final Decision peaked at 1.49 million. In the capital cities, it drew 976,000 viewers and peaked at 1.09 million.

It dominated its timeslot, ranking #1 in people 25 to 54 with commercial share of 36.3%, #1 in under 55s(40.4%commercial share) and #1 in total people (33.6% commercial share). Among women under 55, The Final Decision had a commercial share of 47.1%.

Earlier, The Bachelorette Australia Grand Finale attracted 1.06 million viewers nationally and peaked at 1.36 million. In the capital cities, its audience was 790,000 and it peaked at 949,000.

Both episodes recorded the highest audience shares in 25 to 54s and total people for the series.

Ms McGarvey said: “Last night’s romantic and emotional episode was the perfect conclusion to great season of The Bachelorette Australia. Congratulations to Georgia and Lee, and we wish them all the very best for the future.”

Across its 2016 season, The Bachelorette Australia ranked #1 in its timeslot among under 55s and #2 in its timeslot in 25 to 54s and total people.

The series had an average national audience of 942,000, including 699,000 capital city viewers. 

In the capital cities, The Bachelorette Australia’s total audience average – which includes television and online catch-up viewing – was 768,000 viewers. Its average seven-day online catch-up audience was 69,000 viewers.

On tenplay, the series has generated 11.03 million video segment views so far – up 13% on the 2015 season –and 3.29 million video starts (up 29%).
