Famed adventurer and survivalist Bear Grylls is back and ready to take more celebrities into the wildest and most remote locations in the U.S. and around the world for a 48-hour journey of a lifetime in a new season of Running Wild with Bear Grylls.

Premiering Tuesday 2 February at 7.30pm, each episode sees a different celebrity ditch luxury to gain a crash course in survival techniques from the adventurer as they prepare to battle the elements in the most extreme and intense season yet.

Joining Bear Grylls for Season 2 are Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet, Oscar nominee Kate Hudson, Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, actress Michelle Rodriguez (The Fast and The Furious franchise), Super Bowl-winning quarterback Drew Brees (New Orleans Saints), The Hangover star Ed Helms, as well as film and television actors James Marsden (X-Men movies, 27 Dresses) and Michael B. Jordan (Fantastic Four, Friday Night Lights). Each of these accomplished actors and athletes will endure the harsh wilderness in a high-octane, action-based and empowering journey.

Faced with some of their deepest fears, these intrepid celebrities will tackle everything from skydiving to rock rappelling as they journey through some of the world’s most unforgiving wildernesses. Pushing their minds and bodies to the limit, they will experience the excitement of being dropped into uncharted territory and tackling the terrain head-on to successfully complete their adventure.

In the first episode, Bear Grylls takes Michelle Rodriguez to one of the harshest environments in North America; the red deserts of Nevada, where the heat is only half the battle. The two make a breathtaking skydive from 10,000 feet, but unexpected high winds push Michelle off course and threaten to end their adventure before it begins. Their journey is not for the faint-hearted as they rappel down a steep, crumbling cliff, navigate through narrow slot canyons, hike over jagged rocks and treacherous boulders and share a stomach-churning meal both would soon rather forget.

Michelle may have a reputation as one of Hollywood’s bad girls, but beyond the tough exterior is a softer side as she opens up to Bear about her fears and personal loss. As they near their extraction point, Bear has one more challenge for Michelle: scaling a massive 105 metre peak which will test her physical limits to the extreme.
