Channel Seven has announced that a new season of hit Australian drama Winners & Losers will begin production early in 2014.
Following the lives of a group of girlfriends bound together by their shared life experiences, Winners & Losers has become a much-loved series across Australia.
Stars Melissa Bergland, Virginia Gay, Katherine Hicks, Zoe Tuckwell-Smith and Melanie Vallejo will all return.
Premiering in March 2011, Winners & Losers now averages a combined audience of 1.642 million viewers, including metro and regional areas, winning its timeslot across all shares. It was one of the top five local dramas this year and also ranked among the Top 10 dramas on Australian television.
Next year the girls will face some of their biggest challenges, in what promises to be the most compelling season yet.
“Winners & Losers is a show everyone loves working on. The contemporary vibe allows for great storytelling against a backdrop everyone can relate to,” said Seven’s Head of Drama, Julie McGauran. “There’s so much in store for our favourite girls as we follow them through triumph, tragedy and everything in between.”
Based in Melbourne, production of the new season is due to commence early in 2014.
