The Australian newspaper is reporting this morning that Network Ten will today revive the Eyewitness News Brand.
The name was last used in 1994, however the network now believes that the name is more reflective of the age we live in, with news events being captured by smartphones and then consumed on the move via Tablet devices

All Ten’s news broadcasts are being rebadged, with its hour-long flagship bulletins in the five state capitals changing from Ten News At Five to Ten Eyewitness News, under plans exclusively unveiled to Media by network news and current affairs chief Anthony Flannery.
“Eyewitness News first appeared on Ten in 1973 and, although it was last seen in 1994, Flannery said that some viewers had never stopped using the title.”
The network has used it’s Twitter account to announce that the changes will take place at 5pm today.
