The Italian Grand Prix is synonymous with Monza, built in
1922 to host the second Gran Premio d’Italia. Monza has been the location for
some of the most remarkable Formula One moments including Gerhard Berger’s
emotional and odd-defying victory for Ferrari in 1988, after the death of Enzo
Ferrari, and Michael Schumacher’s emotional announcement of his retirement
after victory there in 2006.
