Press Release

A Current Affair has taken out the 2013 ratings year to once again claim the
title of Australia’s most watched nightly public affairs program.

With 40 weeks in the official ratings calendar, A Current Affair has now won 21
weeks out of the 28 weeks so far this year across the 5 City Metro, meaning it
cannot be beaten on number of weeks won and therefore claims a national ratings
victory for 2013.

A Current Affair has already wrapped up the ratings years in Sydney, Melbourne
and Brisbane, having dominated in those markets for some time.

But this year marks the first time that A Current Affair has won on a
national level since 2004.

A Current Affair has averaged 1.048 million viewers across the 5 City Metro each
weeknight in 2013 (up 2% year-on-year), compared to Today Tonight which has an
average weeknight audience of 1.011 million (down 8.5% year-on-year) – an
average lead of 37,000 viewers each weeknight.

The ratings win comes just four weeks after Nine News also reclaimed the
mantle as Australia’s No. 1 news service.

Grant Williams, Executive Producer of A Current Affair, today acknowledged
his staff and conveyed his appreciation to viewers for helping to make A Current Affair Australia’s No.1
once more.

“We’ve strived incredibly hard for this result by listening to
our viewers and telling the stories that matter most to the people of
Australia,” said Mr Williams.

“We go into battle for the underdog and get results for people
that make a meaningful difference to their lives. These stories resonate with
our viewers.

“A Current Affair aims to provide news and relevant information
that is useful in the day-to-day lives of ordinary Aussies.

“We are incredibly humbled that viewers choose our program night
after night, making A Current Affair Australia’s number one.”
