Gold Coast Cops, narrated by Samuel Johnson OAM, will take viewers on high-speed car chases and inside elite policing operations capturing the drama and danger of the glitter strip from next Monday, November 16, at 7.30pm on Nine.
The highly trained, 100-strong Gold Coast Rapid Action and Patrols Group (RAP), comprising a special breed of police officer and led by Superintendent Jim Keogh, was created in response to the chaos of outlaw motorcycle gangs who descended upon the Gold Coast in 2013.
Now the RAP squad provide the Gold Coast with a permanent specialised police presence to chase down crime. From hunting a violent machete-wielder on the run to smashing a Hell’s Angels’ methamphetamine lab, the RAP tackle everything that comes their way.
In the first two instalments, Sergeant Gregory St Clair, who has decades of experience in the Gold Coast police force, leads a drug operation into the hinterlands, while another officer goes down in a hit-and-run that turns into a dangerous high-speed chase.
No two days are ever the same on Australia’s internationally famous glitter strip, and with so many crimes constantly on the RAP’s radar, viewers of Gold Coast Cops are in for a thrilling ride on the wild side.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, AT 7.30PM ON NINE AND 9NOW
Note: The episodes of Gold Coast Cops airing in primetime are repeats of the series that ran on 10 in 2014
